Transmission fluids may influence friction behaviour, hydraulic control, wear protection, cooling, seal compatibility and shift quality. A product name, red colour or similar viscosity cannot establish suitability for every transmission.

Can transmission fluid be selected by colour?
No. Colour is not a performance specification and does not prove fluid type, friction characteristics or compatibility.
Can LubeMax ATF III be used in every automatic transmission?
No. Use it only when the equipment requirement and current LubeMax TDS support the application.
Is ATF III an API approval?
No. LubeMax products do not currently carry API approval, licensing or certification. Product suitability depends on the stated equivalent performance references and equipment requirement.
Can different transmission fluids be mixed?
Do not assume compatibility. Identify both products and follow the transmission manufacturer’s service and changeover guidance.
Should a transmission be flushed?
Use only a service procedure permitted for the specific transmission. The correct approach depends on design, fluid condition, contamination and maintenance history.
What information is needed for a recommendation?
Provide vehicle and transmission details, OEM fluid requirement, current fluid, service history, duty cycle and reason for service.
Where can I request the TDS and SDS?
Use the LubeMax Technical Resources centre and specify LubeMax ATF III.
Does LubeMax ATF III have SON approval?
All LubeMax products have SON approvals except where the current TDS clearly states “Pending approval.”
